New Customer Information
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Denison Municipal Utilities (DMU) customer. If you are signing up for services for the first time, you will need to stop into the DMU Business Office during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a valid government-issued photo ID at the time of service activation. An application for service can be printed from the following link or the application can be completed at the DMU Business Office.
Customer Deposit Information
A deposit intended to guarantee partial payment of bills for service will be required prior to approval for service. The deposit will be determined by the average usage from the previous 12 months, or 1 month of estimated service for new construction, and will not be less than $100. A person other than the customer may pay the deposit. No interest will be paid by the Utility.
The initial deposit may be waived if the customer provides an excellent credit reference from a previous utility company.
Deposits will be refunded in the form of a credit to a person’s active account when there is a consecutive 12-month history of on-time payments. When an account is disconnected, the deposit will be applied to the final balance due. Any remaining credit will be transferred to other balances owed to the Utility. If there is a credit remaining after the balance due is paid in full, a refund check will be mailed to the forwarding address provided by the customer. If the credit amount is less than $5, a refund will not be issued.
Privacy Guidelines
DMU is committed to your privacy. DMU follows federal privacy guidelines that require us to ask you for personal information like your social security number and driver’s license number. We appreciate your trust and work hard to protect this and all of your personal information.
DMU will share account information including the amount due and services provided to only those listed on your account. If you would like others to be listed on your account, you will need to update the application for service with the DMU Business Office.
