 DMU To Flush Hydrants

Starting Monday, April 13, 2026 Denison Municipal Utilities (DMU) crews will operate and flush fire hydrants throughout the city. Flushing hydrants are a regular maintenance procedure designed to help maintain clear water quality.

It is possible that customers may notice discoloration in the water for short periods of time near the areas where flushing is taking place. This is normal and the water is safe at all times.  However, if discoloration is present and noticeable, DMU recommends flushing your water service by opening the outside faucet or the cold water tap from your bathtub.      This eliminates the discolored water from going into your water heater. Customers should avoid doing laundry while the water is discolored.
